Call for Long/Short Papers

AIJISA2017 (the 40th Symposium on Computer Technology of Information, Systems and Applications) invites original research and practice papers to advance in architecture/urban design and engineering, to foster planning, design, construction and management field, and to improve qualities of designers and engineers. Authors can use English and Japanese as the languages of papers and presentations.

 

Papers are categorized two: Long paper with full paper review process and short paper without review process. All the accepted papers are included conference proceedings (DVD-ROM). An author can submit up to two papers as the first author.

Long Paper (with full paper review process)

1. Author

The first author should be an AIJ regular member or student member (for undergraduate student).

2. Contents

1) A long paper should clearly describe the research background, objective, methodology, result and conclusion related to digital applications, computational methods and Information technologies for architecture, building, urban and environmental design/engineering field.

2) A long paper should be original and unpublished. Meanwhile, published papers without review process such as annual meeting of Architectural Institute of Japan can be submitted.

 

3. Format

1) Please download DOC/PDF template above.

2) A Long paper should be 6 pages: 5 pages for body, 1 pages for abstract. 

 

4. Important Dates

1) Submission deadline: June 16 JST 17:00, 2017 (Start accepting: June 1)

a) 3 copies of full papers and an application form should send administrative office by post. The application form should includes the information below:

  • Long paper title
  • Categories (Pick up within three from the category list below. Describe high priority order.)
  • Keywords (3 - 6)
  • Authors list (Describe AIJ member's ID for AIJ members. Mark up the presenter.)
  • Affiliation
  • Contact information (E-mail and TEL/FAX)

b) Stamped addressed envelope (A4 size. Describe your address.)

c) Use one envelop for one paper.

2) Notification of full paper acceptance

Middle of September 2017

 

3) Deadline for camera-ready full papers

Submit final version of long paper by 6 October 2017.

Format: PDF (less than 4MB), Use one e-mail for one paper

 

4) Final decision

Paper Selection Committee will decide.

 

5. Presentation

1) The author(s) should attend and present their paper using PC and projector etc.

2) Each presentation time will be 15 - 20 minutes.

 

6. Copyrights

1) Copyright belongs to the author(s). Editorial and publication rights belong to AIJ.

2) Author(s) has a responsibility to get permission of all the copyright when they use/cite software and copyrighted works of other authors if necessary.

3) Author(s) should allow their paper of full pages to open on AIJ website and other websites AIJ permitted.

 

7. Others

The rejected long paper can be submitted as the short paper after modification.


Short Paper (without review process)

1. Author

The first author should be an AIJ regular member or student member (for undergraduate student). The first author who lives in overseas and is an international student may be AIJ nonmember.

2. Contents

1) A short paper should clearly describe the research background,objective, methodology, result and conclusion related to digital applications, computational methods and Information technologies for architecture, building, urban and environmental design/engineering field. Since short papers have no review process, short papers must be revised according to changes required by the Paper Selection Committee.

2) A short paper should be focused on flash report rather than completeness. Novel ideas and methods, development of valuable data and software, and practical architecture/building technologies are welcomed.

1) Please download DOC/PDF template above.

2) A Short paper should be 4 pages. Abstract does not need.

7. Others

1) The content in a paper should be neutral. If the content is biased towards commercialism or highly promotional colors, it may be rejected at the discretion of the paper selection committee. In particular, avoid using product names to titles.

2) The accepted short paper can be submitted to AIJ journal (Journal of Environmental Engineering, Journal of Structural and Construction Engineering and Journal of Architecture and Planning) and AIJ journal of Technology and Design.
